We serve Bee Cave, about 30 minutes in normal traffic from our South Austin base straight out SH 71 to RM 620. Its speed of change is what sets this place apart. The city had 656 residents in 2000, 3,925 in 2010 and 9,144 at the 2020 census. Census estimates put about 87 percent of housing units here as built in 2000 or later, and 60 percent in 2010 or later. There is little older stock to repair. Work here is more often a first gutter system on a custom build, an upgrade on a home whose gutters came up short on a big roof, or a multifamily building, since roughly half of homes here are rentals.
Rock outcrop, Little Barton Creek and steep Hill Country roofs
Bee Cave sits at 875 to 1,025 feet, in hills drained by Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek. The honeybee colonies along those creeks gave the place its name. USDA soil maps show Brackett and rock outcrop over much of the area, with Eckrant very stony clay to the east on slopes up to 18 percent. There is little soil for roof water to soak into, and USDA rates Brackett in its highest-runoff group.

Custom Hill Country designs bring two extra issues. Steep pitches push water off faster, and a heavy flow out of a valley can overshoot the outer lip of a small gutter at the corner. Complex roofs also gather many planes into a few inside corners. So the math starts with square feet of roof. The baseline is 1 square inch of downspout per 100 square feet of roof, which gives a 3x4 about 1,200 square feet. Where a valley feeds one spot, we consider 6-inch K-style and add outlets close to it.
Trees and weather add the rest. After the February 2023 ice storm, city officials asked residents to deal with broken oak limbs on roofs and fences. Bee Cave's permit checklist bars removing or trimming oaks from February 1 through July 1 unless the City Manager issues a waiver, and it applies in the city and its ETJ, so check before limbs come off an eave.
Looks count here too. A long roofline on a stone or stucco house needs gutters that fit the design. We carry many colors, including a copper color, and half-round is a profile to ask about. For true copper or steel, ask us when you call.

“Great experience! They had so many different color options and gutter styles to choose from. You can't even tell our home has gutters unless you look closely. That's how well it matches to our house!”
“I was able to send them measurements, pick from a variety of colors. We went with the copper color. They came out same week and got them put up with in hours. The crew was timely and curious. The price was fair.”
Falconhead, Spanish Oaks and who sets the rules
Jurisdiction in this area catches people out, so start here. The City of Bee Cave lists neighborhoods including Falconhead, Uplands, Ladera, Homestead and Meadow Fox inside its limits. It lists Lake Pointe and Spanish Oaks as outside them, so a 78738 address is not proof of who has authority. Many communities also have HOAs or architectural review, and those rules can cover color and exterior changes.
You will know the landmarks: the Hill Country Galleria and City Hall on Galleria Parkway, the SH 71 and RM 620 junction, and Lake Travis ISD schools. Bee Cave is also an International Dark Sky Community, named in April 2023. If eave lighting has to come off for gutter work, put it back as it was and ask the city before changing a fixture.
The city is not a utility provider, so water questions go to West Travis County PUA or, in Falconhead West, Travis County WCID 17. Central Park has a paved perimeter trail just over a mile long, and Planning and Development at 4000 Galleria Parkway takes tree permit questions at 512-767-6675.
Custom home gutters for Bee Cave builds along Highway 71
- New construction gutters
Coordinates with the roofer and stone mason on a custom build in the hills. We set outlets before stone or stucco closes off the route, then return when fascia is ready.
- 6-inch K-style gutters
More capacity where steep valleys feed one corner. On a complex Bee Cave roof the math starts with square feet, and 6-inch pairs with a 3x4 downspout close to the valley.
- Metal roof gutters
Standing seam sheds fast, so the gutter must be set to catch it. On tall roofs that flow can overshoot a small gutter at an inside corner, so placement comes first.
- Micro-mesh guards
Cuts cleaning on tall roofs with cedar and oak nearby. With oak trimming barred from February 1 through July 1, guards handle the spring drop you cannot prune away.
- HOA and multifamily gutters
Serves the large rental share with work planned around tenants and managers. Color choices stay in writing for any HOA or architectural review on a Bee Cave building.
- Downspout installation
Brackett rock leaves little soil for water to soak into and limits buried lines. We plan surface routes with you, using extensions and pads that keep discharge off walls and drives.

How we handle a Bee Cave build or upgrade
For a house under construction, call while the roof is going on. We can review plans, set downspout spots before stone or stucco closes off the route, and return when fascia is ready. For a finished home, we start at the free estimate by measuring and walking the outlets. Bare rock limits what can be buried, so we plan surface routes with you. The quote comes in writing and lists gauge, size, color and downspout count. On install day, the run is formed in the driveway, hung at the right slope, and checked with you after cleanup.

Bee Cave gutter questions
Is Spanish Oaks inside Bee Cave city limits?
The City of Bee Cave lists Spanish Oaks and Lake Pointe as outside its city limits, even though they carry a nearby address. Falconhead, Uplands and others are listed inside. Boundaries can change, so confirm your address with the city or Travis County. It matters for permits. Your HOA or architectural committee still applies either way.
When should gutters go on a custom Bee Cave home?
Plan them early and install near the end. Call during roofing so downspout routes are set before stone, stucco and hardscape block them. We hang gutters after fascia and paint are ready, and before final landscaping if possible. Outlets on rocky ground need a surface route, and it is far easier to design that in than to work around a finished patio.
Do steep Bee Cave roofs need 6-inch gutters?
Not always. Steep pitch and big valleys are the reasons to consider 6-inch, but we size from roof area and valley layout. A 5-inch K-style with enough downspouts handles many roofs. Where a valley dumps into one corner, 6-inch with a 3x4 downspout is a stronger answer. We will show the reasoning in the written quote.
Can gutters match a stone or stucco Bee Cave exterior?
Usually, yes. We offer many coil colors, including a copper color, and we can hold samples to your trim at the estimate. Half-round is one profile to ask about on traditional designs. If your community has an architectural committee, get its sign-off before we order. For true copper or steel stock, ask us when you call.
