Kyle is close to us, straight down I-35. It is also one of the fastest-filling cities on our map. The census counted 28,016 people in 2010 and 45,697 in 2020, and the latest Census Bureau estimate, for July 2025, is 69,917. Median year built is 2010 in census survey data. Many Kyle houses are recent production builds, and if yours lacks full gutters, adding them after closing is normal. Before you do, it helps to know which way your lot drains, because Kyle splits into two watersheds.
Plum Creek, the Blanco River and homes on shifting Hays County soil
Central and eastern Kyle drain east to Plum Creek, while the Blanco River runs along the western side. Both feed the San Marcos River. The Handbook of Texas places Hays County on the border of the Edwards Plateau and the Black Prairie, with soils ranging from thin limestone to black, waxy loam. So two Kyle houses a few miles apart may sit on very different ground.

FOX 7 reported in December 2025 on sinking and separation at some homes in Kyle and Buda, with expansive clays common east of I-35. UT Austin's Dan Breecker said the problem areas are scattered, not citywide, and that keeping soil moisture steady matters. An engineer in the same story advised starting with water control around the foundation. We do not diagnose foundations. We do make sure roof water ends up 6 to 10 feet out and not at the slab. The USDA Web Soil Survey is a free way to look up the soil on your lot.
Rain can arrive all at once. The city counted about 17.5 inches on October 30 and 31, 2015, the event it named the Halloween Flood, and it damaged Windy Hill, Bebee and Dry Hole roads. Trees are small on most streets built after 2010, so debris stays light and the bigger job is moving volume. That is why downspout count comes before gutter size.

Gutter service in Kyle for newer streets off I-35
- Gutter installation
Finish the rest of a roof that came with gutters over the garage or entry only. We match color and gauge, or say why the short section should go, then form the rest in your driveway.
- Downspouts and extensions
Add a discharge point before assuming a 5-inch gutter is too small. On Kyle's black, waxy ground we carry roof water 6 to 10 feet out, away from the slab and the fence line.
- 5-inch seamless gutters
The standard size for most homes, with room to add downspouts along RM 150 lots. It suits a recent Kyle production roof when outlets sit about every 30 feet of gutter.
- Leaking gutter repair
Fix corners on a partial system before you extend it. A builder's short run over a garage can leak first at the miter, and a drip at the slab edge does Kyle soil no favors.
- Gutter screens
Young yards drop little, so a lighter option can be enough until trees mature. On a Kyle street built after 2010, ask if a guard is needed yet or a cleaning schedule will do.
- Downspout unclogging
A blocked outlet turns a burst of rain into a waterfall at one corner of the house. We clear it and check the run, on lots draining to Plum Creek or the Blanco.
- Fascia and soffit repair
Homes near the old depot and downtown Kyle are far older than the 2010 median. Their trim needs checking before new metal goes on, and we confirm scope on the estimate.
“V&V was great to work with. I met with them on a Monday to discuss my project. They came the next day and did a perfect repair and install on my gutters.”
“Great experience! They had so many different color options and gutter styles to choose from. You can't even tell our home has gutters unless you look closely. That's how well it matches to our house!”
What an I-35 service call looks like
The schedule comes with your quote, so ask for the date when you get it. Some past customers have had a quote one day and work the next, when the schedule allowed. The sequence stays the same. You call. We measure the roofline and the existing runs, check the fascia and mark downspout spots. A written quote spells out the size, gauge, color, number of downspouts and any guards.
If you already have partial gutters, we tell you whether to tie in or replace them, based on their gauge and color match. New sections are roll-formed in your driveway, sealed only at corners and end caps, and hung at the right slope. Before we leave, we walk it with you and check where each downspout empties.
Downtown Kyle, FM 1626 and RM 150
Kyle was platted in 1880 and still has its historic railroad depot and the Auction Oak, plus the Pie Capital of Texas title it took on in 2021. We cover the old center and the neighborhoods along RM 150, FM 1626 and I-35, all in ZIP 78640. Bring us anything your HOA requires. Do not lean on Austin's exempt-work list or wildfire code here; ask the City of Kyle, or Hays County outside city limits, what applies.
Gregg-Clarke Park sits on West Center Street, and the Plum Creek Trail links Steeplechase Park, Lake Kyle and Bunton Creek Park. Plum Creek is also the name of a large planned community, so tell us which one you mean. Kyle's water comes largely from Canyon Lake and Edwards wells, and Alliance deliveries from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer began in May 2024. When drought limits tighten, roof water sent to planted ground does more good than water sent to the curb.

Kyle gutter questions
Can you add to the partial gutters on my Kyle home?
Usually, yes. We check the existing profile, gauge and color, then either tie in new runs or tell you why replacing the short sections makes more sense. A mismatch in color or a thin gauge shows up at the joint. Your written quote will show both the add-on and the replacement if both are reasonable.
Do gutters help with foundation trouble in Kyle?
They help control one source of water, and that is all. An engineer quoted by FOX 7 advised starting with water control around the foundation. Gutters and long extensions do that for roof runoff. If you already see cracks or separation, have a foundation professional look first, then call us about the drainage side.
Should Kyle homes drain toward Plum Creek or the street?
Follow your lot's approved drainage, not a creek map. Lots in newer subdivisions are usually graded to move water toward a swale or street, and many have drainage easements. We point extensions along that grade and keep them away from your neighbor's yard. If your HOA or plat says otherwise, show us and we will plan around it.
